killer bread a hit in the 'Couve
Ok, you're right. That's not news. But I have to admit that it was pretty nice to go home early for a change after I ran out of bread at Vancouver Farmers' Market's opening day yesterday. Sorry to anyone who was turned away. My main message for 'couvites is to remember that Dave's Killer Bread will be available at VFM year-round and 7 days a week.
I've been hearing that stores in Vancouver keep running out of my bread, which is no surprise, because we still haven't figured out how to get the right amount of bread in the right place at the right time.
But I am really excited about this market season and beyond. My goal is to make the indoor market in Vancouver the place for DKB north of the Columbia. Sounds dramatic.
Since you asked, the other farmers' market (Portland) opens next Saturday, and in case you missed it, here's my offer: sign up for my newsletter, and when you get this week's issue on Friday, print it. Then bring that bad boy to me at Portland Farmers' Market on Saturday and I will give you a free Dave's Killer Bread shopping bag made from recycled plastic bottles. I'll do darn near anything to get you there, see?

vancouver farmers' market--let's rock!
What's the weather gonna be like this weekend? Your guess is as good as mine. Whatever the weather, you can be pretty sure I will be at Vancouver Farmers' Market's opening day this Saturday. I hope to see you there, too.
I'm not sure what else is going to be there. Their website, though attractively designed, is seriously lacking in content--as I rediscovered when I visited a few minutes ago. Someone needs to have a talk with those boys.
Last year was my first year there. It is a popular market, and people love my bread there, so I'm going back. We're keeping a slightly lower profile this year, hanging out just inside the front door of the indoor market.
I'm planning to have some new varieties from time to time, and this Saturday, I'll introduce my organic cinnamon-raisin spelt bread. I think it's delicious, and it's got lots of fiber. I designed it for people who choose not to eat conventional wheat, for whatever reasons. But this is just good bread.
One more thing: people who read my blog (that's you) get a Dave's Killer Bread shopping bag made from recycled bottles. Magic words: "Hook it up, Dave!" Be the first on your block...:-)

sell bread, make bread...
Dave’s Killer Bread is looking for two employees for the summer farmers’ market season beginning April 7. Both employees will be working the booth during the farmer’s market, so we need friendly, outgoing, health-conscious people. Dave’s Killer Bread is a beloved brand at the farmers’ market and we want to keep it that way. Sales experience is a plus, but it’s more important that you care about our product as much as we do.
