chalk up one more for organic...

Is it beginning to sink in yet? Organic food is better. It doesn't take a history of indiscriminately polluting oneself with harsh chemicals to understand that pesticides are really bad for the environment. Why wouldn't the same be true for our bodies?

So far, there hasn't been a lot of hard evidence--just more and more people buying more and more organic food.

But a study done by scientists at the University of California http://www.lef.org/news/LefDailyNews.htm?NewsID=5167 gives organic some love. They say the only difference between the two groups of kiwi plants was that they used chemical fertilizers, pesticides, and hebicides on one and organic techniques on the other. Result: Organically-grown kiwis were significantly higher in polyphenols as well as antioxidant activity.
