feeling the love in corvallis...

They rolled out the red carpet for me at 1rst Alternative Co-op in Corvallis as I gave folks their first chance to try all nine varieties of Dave's Killer Bread. Many of them had tried one or more already, and they made me feel very much at home.
I'm hoping that others here in Portland and elsewhere will see the light and use DKB in their restaurants and sandwich shops. It's working out very well for my friends in Corvallis.

the part that bread plays...

Hi Dave,

I'd like to share a bit of my story. I recently had intestinal surgery. I am recovering as I write this.

I haven't been very hungry or able to eat alot anyway, and I was supposed to stay away from nuts and seeds for a while. My husband bought a loaf of your bread at our local co-op and it fits perfectly with my current diet. There are mornings, or when my stomach is upset, or at night when I need a little snack, that all I want is a piece of toast. And it's your bread that I have been eating.

I never read the complete label until just the other day, and your story really touched me. I have a 28 year old son who has been in and out of jail and prison for the past 8 years (drugs, etc.). He's currently out but if he breaks the law one more time he's looking at some serious time. When I read your bread label, standing in my kitchen, finding comfort in my piece of toast, it made me smile. I am always happy to see that, no matter what, we always get a second chance as long as we are living and breathing. My hats off to you, Dave, for your successes!

My surgery was supposed to be basically routine, but to the surprise of the doctors, they found cancer. We're not entirely sure how extensive it is at this time, and of course, it's too soon to know how successful treatment will be. I will start chemotherapy in a couple of weeks. I know that, should I have days when I don't feel like eating or my stomach is upset, I will probably only want toast.

May we never underestimate what impact we are having on others, even in the seemingly insignificant, unseen ways. Keep up the good work, Dave, and as long as your bread is on the market, we'll be buying it!

Your bread rocks! I just tried it for the first time a week or so ago. Specifically, I have thoroughly enjoyed your Powerseed bread. I read your testimonial on the back of the bag as well, and I’m inspired. Way to go Dave, your bread is awesome! : )
